Borodino Panorama

PANORAMA tour “Honor of Borodino Day” introduces the history of the Patriotic War of 1812 (against Napoleon), its heroes and battles. The central exhibit of the museum, the Borodino art panorama, is one of the largest panoramas in the world, 115 m long and 15 m high, painted by the outstanding Russian battalist Franz Roubaud in 1912, on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino. The subject plan with the relief, special lighting and the location of the painting around the circumference allow the visitor to create the illusion of real natural space and military events. The panorama shows the decisive moment of the battle between the Russian and French armies at the village of Borodino on September 7, 1812.

The interactive complex "Panoramas of Moscow" represents the everyday culture and architecture of the city, which forever disappeared in the fire of 1812. Buildings, palaces and monasteries can be seen by turning the symbolic clockwork, and you can watch the city life of that time by looking at the symbolic doors of Moscow houses.
